Director ID Requirements
Director Identification Number (director ID) requirements are now law in Australia. First-time directors are required to apply for a director ID BEFORE they can be appointed as a director of a company. For further information on director IDs and to apply refer to the ABRS website here.

To proceed with a new company registration, we will request director IDs from all directors being appointed.
Note, the law requires directors to apply for their number before they can be appointed as directors, but they do not need to wait for their number to be issued and at hand. This is particularly relevant for foreign directors who may be waiting several months to receive their director ID in the mail from the ABRS.
Anti-Money Laundering & Counter Terrorism Funding (AML/CTF) Laws
From 1 July 2026, new company registrations are regulated under Australia's AML/CTF laws. Before we can proceed with a company registration, we will need to carry out various checks on our customers, including identity verification on the proposed officeholders, shareholders and beneficial owners (where a company is to be owned by a trust).
An AML/CTF Compliance fee will apply when setting up a company. This fee ranges between $165-$550 depending on the complexity of the company and the number of associated parties involved and will be quoted with each order.
